Great Lakes Fishing

Being a old salt dog from coastal North Carolina I have enjoyed becoming a Great Laker fisherman. Wisconsin offers some of the best fishing in the nation. Best Smallmouth,Musky,Walleye in the nation. Then add in Great Lake run Salmon,Brown Trout, and Steelhead it all adds up to some great fishing.

Here is a shot from our float trip yesterday

I must admit I need help

I must admit I need help! I wake up and first thing I do is check the weather and the stream flows. The rods and waders are always in the truck. I walk through the girls sports store (Hobby Lobby) and try to figure out what I can use to tie flies. But it came to a head this opening weekend of deer hunting. I was all set to sit in the stand watching for the thirty pointer reading the Drake when I get a text from someone looking to book a guide trip.So needless to say I was packed up by noon and on my way to the river.I am thankful for my wife that understands and encourages me to share my passion of the outdoors and never makes me feel guilty and look 's forwards to the days I can guide her..And thank goodness there's no know cure for being fish addicted

Trout Beauty

I was out fishing with my good friend Jim Hauer from Blue Sky Furled Leaders on the greasy banks of one of the lakeside tributary's this morning testing out their new Magnum Drifter Series indicator The river was off color and still running with a good flow so we hit all the pools below the riffles.Jim had miss two fish earlier in the pool and with our departure time coming soon Jim hooks this dime bright trout. What a great day to be on the river.

Great Fishing Still

Coho,Steelhead, and Brown Trout can be found in most of the tributary around Northeast Wisconsin. The great fishing continues with little slow down in the future. With the rain coming down right now this will set up a great weekend and next week for fishing.Swinging big flashy flies and nymp with egg dropper's still are taking great numbers of fish. The problem is to many rivers and streams to cover. Get out and get some for yourself
