July Fishing Report
I have finally made it to the river after being in North Carolina and then camping with the family it was good to get some flies "into the air". I got to fish with my good friend Jim Hauer from Blue Sky Furled Leaders http://www.blueskyfly.com/. Jim is a excellent fisherman and boat man which makes the fishing even more enjoyable. After a little mapping on the upper stretch of the river it was time to get down to some fishing. We fished a couple of deep holes and some mid river reefs and wood with not much action. Then we switched to some poppers and divers and fished a shallow bank. On the first cast we had a fish and then anther, but the trick was the fish where tight to the bank. So if you couldn't cast within inches of the bank the fish was not coming to get it..We finished the day with many in the boat and many that came unbuttoned.and even one that jumped out of the boat before we could get a pictures. Some great fish, some great laughs and anther great season. Pictures coming soon...
